Prince George’s building permit values continued to soar in May – My Prince George Now

New multi-family dwellings led another surge for building permits in Prince George in May.

According to a report going before Prince George City Council at tomorrow’s (Monday) meeting, the City of Prince George issued 33 building permits worth a combined $41.5 million.

That included three permits for new multi-family dwellings, worth $34.9 million.

In addition, five new single-family dwellings brought in $2.5 million, while six permits were issued for commercial alterations worth $2.3 million.

2024 is well on pace to be a record year for building permits in Prince George, with 163 permits issued worth a combined $140 million so far.

In the same timeframe in 2022 (PG’s last record year), 194 permits were issued worth $116.3 million.

Other items on tomorrow’s agenda include follow up from the Public Safety Town Hall meeting, and the City’s 2023 Annual Report.
